Dear Students, Families, and Staff,
Welcome Back!
We hope you and your loved ones enjoyed a restful and refreshing Spring Break! It is hard to believe we are in the final stretch of this school year with just 9 weeks left! As we start another productive week, I want to take a moment to highlight the value of our Weekly Kickoff Bulletin. This bulletin is more than just a list of events-it's our central hub for everything happening across the school district. From key updates and important dates to opportunities for involvement, we want to keep you informed, connected, and empowered in your student's success at school!
Let's make the most of this time together by staying focused, supporting one another, and finishing strong! There is still so much to Celebrate-Accomplish-and Experience before the school year ends. 
UPDATE: MPH's   "Step to Success & English Learner Parent Workshop"has been cancelled for April 17th. We will share a new date soon if rescheduling becomes necessary. Thank you for your understanding!

Kindergarten & TK Registration. ROWUSD is excited to announce that we are currently accepting registration and enrollment information for students who plan to enter Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten (TK) for the 2025-2026 school year. What is Transitional Kindergarten (TK)? TK provides an early childhood education program that builds a bridge between preschool years and traditional kindergarten. This program provides children with a well-planned classroom program to build necessary social and academic skills for success throughout their school careers. Registration Requirements: Age: Students must be 5 years of age on or before September 1st to enter Kindergarten.  To enter TK, students must be 4 years of age on or before September 1st. Schedule & Locations TBD: 25-26 First Day of School is August 12th, 2025. Once the 25-26 schedule is approved, according to state guidelines, you will be notified.  Thank you for Your Patience.  Documents Needed: 1) Parent/Guardian Present, 2) Documentation of age: Provide one of the following: Birth Certificate, Baptism Certificate, Passport, or Other Appropriate Means. 3) Proof of residency, 5)Immunization Record, and  6) Complete Physical Evaluation. WHY Register Now? Registering now allows ample time to complete the registration process & allows the district to be well-prepared for our new incoming students. HOW do I register my student? Page Four: Charles Hoffman Elementary.  Dear CHE Families, Welcome back! We hope you had a fantastic Spring Break and are ready for an exciting week.
This week, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will be  participating in the CAASPP review all week.  On Tuesday, April 8, our 4th and 5th graders will head to Riley’s Farm for a fun and educational field trip, & we will have our PTA Meeting at CHE  from 3-4 pm. Meet the Masters: Classes will take place Wednesday through Friday.
 Friday, April 11: Lockdown Drill from 8:30-8:45 AM. Please note that starting this week, Wednesdays will no longer follow a Modified Schedule—all students will now follow the normal schedule, with TK & Kindergarten dismissing at 12:15 pm & Grades 1-5 dismissing at 2:40 pm. Starting 4/10/2025. The classes are Free. Come learn practical strategies from the Love & Logic curriculum & find encouragement from those who understand. You are not alone in this journey. Thursday Mornings: After Drop-off Starting April 10th. Come join us-for a supportive and welcoming workshop designed for parents & guardians. Connect with other families in a judgment-free space while gaining helpful tools & confidence to navigate the ups & downs of parenting. These are held on Thursday mornings right after school drop-off. All caregivers are welcome. Let's learn, grow, & support one another-parenting is easier when we do it together. 
Page Eight & Nine: VOE Yearbook Pre-order Form and ordering reminder. Don't miss out on the memories...It's time to order your VOE school yearbook. VOE PTA Presents...The Annual Talent Show! Hey Hawks, it's time to shine! Whether you're a magician, dancer, DJ, singer, artist, comedian, gymnast, or have a unique talent-this is your moment. Auditions are held on Thursday, April 10th from 4pm to 6pm. (See next page for details). Rehearsal Dates: Thursday, 4/17 at 2:45 pm to 4 pm. Thursday, April 24th at 2:45 pm to 4 pm. and Thursday, May 1st at 2:45 pm to 4 pm. VOE's Annual Talent Show on Friday May 2nd, 2025. Hey Hawks, Its time to get your act together. The VOE PTA is excited to present our ANNUAL TALENT SHOW-we need your talent.  Magicians, Dancers, DJs, Singer/Songwriters, Artists, Comedians, Gymnasts, Special Tricks, etc. Auditions will be held on Thursday, April 10th from 4-6 pm. Acts can be NO longer that 5 minutes, include six students, and each act must have a parent present for auditions. Your act must get approval, and you must participate in a minimum of two rehearsals prior to performance night. Rehearsals will be held Thursday, 4/17 from 2:45pm to 4pm, 4/24 and May 1st from 2:45 pm to 4 pm. Page Eleven: MPH: MPH is Proud to Honor their student's achievements and as a school, they are finding creative ways to honor & excite students! MPH has partnered with Spin Board who is generously donating the Spin Board to every student who has perfect attendance during the Month of April, in addition to completing all areas of CAASPP testing! Thank you Spin Board for their generous contribution that is sure to motivate & excite best student outcomes. Celebrating Assistant Principals’ Week: This week, we are honoring the incredible work of Mrs. Roque, our dedicated Assistant Principal at MPH.  Her leadership, care, & commitment make a Big Difference every day. What’s Being Assessed: Smarter Balanced Assessments (SBAC)-English Language Arts & Math 11th Grade Students. The format is Computer-based. The standards are based on CA Common Core State Standards.
