Page 5: Fall Digital Citizenship Week, Oct.13th to Oct. 24th, 2025. (Dates TBA by each school) This week, ROWUSD joins other schools across our state and nation in helping students become responsible digital citizens! This week is dedicated to helping students use technology safely, responsibly, and respectfully!
In today’s connected world, it’s important that our students not only know how to use technology but also understand how to do so safely and respectfully.
Digital citizenship goes beyond basic computer skills—it teaches students how to make smart, ethical choices online. By acquiring these skills, students can safeguard their privacy, distinguish between reliable and unreliable information, establish a positive online presence, and contribute meaningfully to their school and community.
By supporting one another, we empower students to become smart, safe, and positive digital citizens.

Page 10: The Great ShakeOut—a statewide earthquake preparedness drill on October 16th at  10:16 a.m. Preparedness saves lives. Earthquakes and other emergencies can happen without warning, and being ready makes all the difference. Here are a few simple steps you and your family can take: Create a Plan: Know where to meet, how to contact each other, and what routes to take in case of evacuation.
Build an Emergency Kit: Stock up on essentials like water, non-perishable food, flashlights, batteries, a first-aid kit, medications, and important documents.
Secure Your Space: Anchor heavy furniture, secure shelves, and keep pathways clear to prevent injuries during shaking.
Practice “Drop, Cover, and Hold On”: Everyone should know to drop to the ground, take cover under sturdy furniture, and hold on until the shaking stops . Stay Informed: Sign up for local alerts and follow guidance from emergency services. By preparing ahead of time, you can protect yourself, your loved ones, and your community. A little planning today can make a big difference tomorrow. Step 3: Organize MeEmergency Supplies by Earthquake County Alliance. The seven steps to Earthquake safety: It may be easier and cheaper than you think to organize emergency supplies in convenient locations.  This is not just about 'having a kit.' Page 17:  Lake Arrowhead Elementary-Storybook Pumpkin Patch In the LAE Library. Storybook Pumpkin Patch in the LAE Library. It's fun, super easy, and a great way to show off your creativity! Here's what to do: 1) Choose your favorite storybook or character. 2) Get a small to medium-sized pumpkin. It can be real or fake. 3) Decorate your pumpkin to look like your book character by using acrylic paint, permanent markers, glue, or other items to add things to the pumpkin. 4) Pumpkins may not be carved, cut, or have holes spiked in them, as they get stinky. Also, watercolors and acrylic paint do not work well. 5) Fill out the entry form below. It needs to be returned with your pumpkin. 6) You can bring your pumpkins to the Storybook Pumpkin Patch (also known as the Library) anytime between October 1st and October 25th. All storybook pumpkins need to be picked up from the library by the end of the school day on Thursday, October 30th. Prizes will be awarded on 10/30 for the most creative pumpkins in the patch!
